Hey, I'm Marie

My path into UX design began with a foundation in visual storytelling, studying Illustration at Falmouth University, where I developed a strong eye for clarity, hierarchy, and communication. Since then, my career has evolved into designing user-centred digital experiences across public sector, education, and SaaS contexts.

I’m currently working as a Content Design Officer in local government, designing accessible, inclusive digital services used by residents with a wide range of needs and digital confidence. My work focuses on simplifying complex information, improving end-to-end user journeys, and making evidence-based design decisions using analytics, accessibility standards, and stakeholder insight — often within tight constraints.

Alongside this, I’ve delivered client-facing website projects, collaborated closely with designers, developers, and non-technical stakeholders, and applied UX principles across research, information architecture, interaction design, and prototyping. I’m particularly interested in the space where content, accessibility, and UX intersect, and how thoughtful design can reduce friction and make services genuinely easier to use.

Why UX design?

At its core, UX is about helping people navigate complexity. I’m motivated by work that has tangible impact — whether that’s making a service easier to understand, reducing frustration, or ensuring digital products work for everyone. UX allows me to combine analytical thinking, creativity, and collaboration to solve real problems in meaningful, human-centred ways.
